Depending on study, skills, and interest, FMF students regularly join us, for example as software engineer or data scientists. Our development teams develop everything themselves. From our website, to our warehouse system, to the development of our own ID verification software Verifai. Our data scientists improve and automate business processes, by doing in-depth research. Think of new methods and ways of working, for procurement and sales processes, among others, which put them at the forefront of new features and insights. The Data Driven Marketing team is fully focused on our search engine advertising, and they ensure that we get the best result from our advertising budget. Finally, the Data Driven Development team ensures that all of these efforts are converted into actual applications and features that process large amounts of data every day. The iconic Sealcentre in Pieterburen (Zeehondencentrum Pieterburen) is currently being relocated to the Lauwersoog harbour. The new location, called the WEC (Wadden Sea World Heritage Center) is going to be more than a seal rehabilitation centre: it will be a workplace for the entire Wadden Sea, where visitors can learn about this extraordinary region and where scientists come together to cooperate on Wadden Sea research. The centre will be opened on April the 25th of this year.
For the main exhibit in the WEC, called the Experience, we are looking for someone to make 3D models of seven predetermined Wadden Sea creatures. These seven creatures (six animals and one alga) take centre stage in one area of the Experience, where they will tell their own story and explain why the Wadden Sea is important to them. We want to feature them with realistic 3D-printed models, and are therefore looking for someone who can model them. There is a possibility for some financial compensation. Though it would of course be ideal if we could have the models before April the 25th, that's not a hard deadline and the details of the agreement are open for discussion.
